Prik Nam Pla Asian Market + Thai Cuisine
Regarded by some as the best Thai food in San Marcos, Prik Nam Pla is located less than a block from Lively Lane. Their adjoining market brings the flavors and products of Thailand and other countries to your kitchen with a diverse selection of southeast Asian ingredients.. Many regulars grab takeout and order popular menu items including curries, stir-fries, and other traditional Thai meals.

Garcia's Mexican Restaurant
Since the 1980’s, Garcia’s has brought quality Mexican recipes to the San Marcos community. One of their two San Marcos restaurants is located a few doors down from Prik Nam Pla and offers all kinds of Tex-Mex dishes. Enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, nachos – you name it.

Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery
Enjoy grabbing freshly baked treats for breakfast in the morning? You’re in luck! Dos Gatos is famous for their Czech and Texas kolaches and has become a local favorite over the years. They have over 30 different kolaches to choose from (and that’s not including their seasonal offerings).

Figaro's Pizza & Pub (now closed)
Next door to Dos Gatos, you’ll find Figaro’s, a relaxed pizza joint serving up custom pies, burgers, pastas, and more. If you’re looking for a place close to your home at Lively Lane to grab some wings and watch the game or grab a family dinner that the kids will love, this is the place! (Note: as of 2024, Figaro’s has closed permanently)

Lamppost Coffee
Nothing says home like having a small, local coffee shop minutes from the house. Lamppost is one of the newest coffee shops in town and brews up all the classics including lattes, mochas, americanos, and smoothies if you’re feeling fruity. Many locals grab their laptops and hang out at Lamppost to get some work done in their relaxing environment.

Otsu Asian Bistro + Sushi Bar
Just a few steps from Lamppost Coffee, Otsu Asian Bistro is our pick for the go-to sushi spot in San Marcos. They have a large selection of lunch and dinner menu items including bento boxes, noodles, and specialty sushi and tempura rolls. Don’t miss their signature Otsu roll. Also, they have a massive selection of sake and mixed drinks to choose from – drink responsibly!
