Behind the Scenes: Designing Lively Lane’s Neighborhood Emblems
Buying a new home is a milestone worth celebrating. At Lively Lane, we knew we wanted to help honor that moment with a detail upon each home. At the same time, we also wanted to find a way to imbue the neighborhood with unique character and capture a positive, even magical spirit. This led to the creation of our building gable emblems crafted in-house by our team just for Lively Lane.
Digging into ancient examples of symbolism, our team took inspiration from Norse runes as a starting point. Shrouded in mystery but thought to have been used to mark property or communicate amongst tribes, runes have been and continue to be associated with mystical qualities. Blending a selection of these values with timeless cultural references over an iterative process resulted in a series of emblems that helped set an intention for the neighborhood and the wellbeing of its future residents.
To subtly embed this symbolism throughout Lively Lane, each new homeowner is asked to select one of these emblems for placement upon the gable of their new home at the time of closing. Not only is this one of the ways we say “welcome to the neighborhood!”, it is also an opportunity for homeowners to take a moment to pause and set an intention for the future. The Harvest emblem, reserved for community-serving elements, is also incorporated on features like the Community Shed and the soon-to-be installed Lively Little Library and symbolizes the importance of togetherness and human-to-human connection.
Come take a stroll through Lively Lane and see where these mystical symbols have made their way into the neighborhood.
