Construction Update: Earning Our Stripes

Image showing construction progress at Lively Lane

As the summer days are heating up, so has the activity over at Lively Lane! The exterior building envelope continues to be prepped for final siding and roof installation, and all units are nearly dried in with windows, patio doors, and protective roofing underlayment in place. Balcony construction has now started (off-site) and awnings will follow over the next month.

Most notably, passersby may have noticed that the exterior walls have sprouted stripes. This is what is known as a “rainscreen” – an extra element (made of 100% recycled post-consumer materials) added to create a ventilation space behind the siding and help manage rain and moisture. While not required by building code, it helps to create a superior, longer-lasting wall assembly.

Stepping inside, work on building systems has also been pushing ahead with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing rough-in underway. Recessed can lights, air handlers, and drain lines are starting to fill out each unit and really give life to each floor plan. Stay tuned for upcoming milestones, including siding, roofing, and interior drywall.
